Fabrício Murakami, from Pay4Fun: ‘BiS is extremely important for the current Brazilian gaming scene’

The Espaço Boulevard JK located in the International Plaza Building, in São Paulo, will be the stage for the first edition of the Brazilian iGaming Summit (BiS), the only in-person betting convention to be held in Brazil, still in 2021.

Scheduled for December 1st and 2nd, the event will explore emerging markets around the world that are arousing the interest of Brazilian society in recent times, such as sports betting, affiliation, lotteries and other subjects. The full BiS schedule and registration information can be accessed on the official website: www.BrazilianiGamingSummit.com.

The priority of the conference is to pass on updated information from authorities, politicians and personalities in the sector, in the political and business context, to national and international companies. After all, the betting regulation process in the country is being closely monitored by the world industry.

Pay4Fun CMO, Fabrício Murakami celebrates betting event

The list of players confirmed at the meeting continues to grow and already counts on Pay4Fun (one of the event’s strategic partners). The company’s CMO, Fabrício Murakami, highlighted the importance of being part of the first edition of BiS.

“After this period of pandemic and the cancellation of events in the sector here in Brazil, it is extremely important for the current Brazilian gaming scene to bring together the entire chain of this industry here in Brazil. Bringing operators, payment methods, agencies, platforms, etc., in this pre-regulation moment, helps stakeholders to understand the market better and to have contact with local intelligence in a more incisive and personal way”, he pointed out.

Murakami also praised the opportunity to return to face-to-face events after the challenges faced by the pandemic. “First feeling of relief, as it has been almost two years without in-person events here in the country. This gives us the feeling of ‘normal life’ again. Secondly, bringing the world industry to an event here in Brazil makes the size and strength of this market even stronger and, once again, consolidate this new segment once again here in the country”, he stressed.v

Betting regulation process in Brazil

Regarding the regulation process of the national sports betting market, the executive believes that this stage will be completed soon, resulting in the creation of thousands of jobs and new business opportunities.

“Although slow, in recent times we have had great advances, especially with regard to the methodology that will be used for taxation here. I believe that, although we still have some resistance, we will soon have less market regulation here, generating many jobs and additional resources to the country’s income”, he projected.

In addition, Fabrício Murakami pointed out that a meeting such as BiS ends up encouraging the world industry to enter the Brazilian market. “The presence of authorities reinforces the government’s intention to regulate the activity here. Apart from that, the presence of large international companies further encourages the industry’s willingness to invest in this new ‘continent’ which is Brazil”, he concluded.
