Faker: A legendary career
Faker was born in Seoul on May 7, 1996. Today, at 28 years old, he has accumulated 10 League Of Legends Champions Korea, the LCK, titles, as well as two Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) titles and five World Championship titles.
Therefore, he is the only one to win five World Championships in the sport, considered one of the greatest in history. He started in April 2013 and, since then, has had 667 wins and 336 losses, with a success rate of approximately 66.7%.
Between 2014 and 2017 was the player’s golden era, when he was most prominent. After that, he had some international failures, but sought his 10th domestic title, maintaining his high level.
It is worth noting that Faker represented South Korea in a League of Legends event at the 2018 Asian Games, as a demonstration. He highlighted that there was great pressure for diversification. The team took silver, losing to China in the final.
Additionally, Faker also represented South Korea at the 2022 Asian Games, where the team won the gold medal, beating Saudi Arabia, China, and Chinese Taipei. This achievement was important, as it guaranteed the player exemption from mandatory military service, allowing him to focus completely on his career.
