The Brazilian eSeleção became two-time champion of the FIFAe Nations Cup, the FIFA World Cup, with a 3-2 victory over the Netherlands. The event took place at Gamers8, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, last Friday, the 14th.
Current champions, the Brazilian eTeam began the decision losing by 2-0 in the first game. With an epic comeback in stoppage time, a 3-0 lead secured the second consecutive trophy.
Paulo Neto, who entered for the second game was decisive for the turnaround. “The feeling of having entered there in the second game, at the decisive moment, and having managed to turn it around is indescribable”.
“I don’t think I’ll ever forget that moment. I can only thank you and I am very happy to represent my country and get this title”, he shared.
Team captain Paulo “PHzin” Chaves commented on yet another achievement. “Winning this world championship again in a row is a dream. For me, in particular, leading this campaign as captain is an achievement”.
“We really want this second title and this conquest will go down in history. It will be very difficult for any other selection to be able to do what we did. Brazil will forever be in history”, added Phzin.
Pedro Resende, a player on the team, admitted that he did not expect so much difficulty in deciding the FIFAe Nations Cup. “I don’t know how to explain this moment. We are very happy, it’s really emotional”.
“We didn’t imagine that this final would be so complicated, but that’s it, we did it again and we are very happy”, added Pedro Resende.
Brazilian campaign at the FIFAe Nations Cup
The Brazilian eSeleção started the FIFAe Nations Cup in Group C, together with Australia, Spain, Portugal, Singapore and Turkey.
The team won 20 points in 10 games and secured qualification for the knockout stage with six wins, two draws and two defeats.
In the round of 16, the team faced Denmark and, after a goalless match in the first leg, won the place with a 1-0 victory in the return.
The passage through the quarterfinals, in turn, was more peaceful: an aggregate score of 4 to 1 over Finland assured the place in the semifinal.
Ahead, the French. In yet another duel in which the scoreboard was not changed, the second game would be even more decisive. With a 2-0 victory, Brazil qualified for the final.
In the first match, a 2-0 defeat by the Netherlands did not discourage the Brazilians. The return match ended with a score of 2 to 0 for Amarelinha.
The game then went into overtime. With a great goal in extra time, Brazil won the championship for the second time.
