Konami Digital Entertainment has signed a long-term partnership with AC Milan to become the first official training partner in the club’s history.

The gaming company will also become one of the Italian football club’s Top Partners, with the partnership starting on July 1, 2022.

From the start of next season, the group’s eFootball logo will appear on the front of the men’s team’s official jersey, to be worn by players during training sessions and before each national and international match.

“We are thrilled to welcome KONAMI back to the AC Milan family as one of our Core Partners and our first Training Partner for the men’s team,” said Casper Stylsvig, AC Milan’s Fiscal Director.

“We are very excited about the potential this partnership offers us, both as a club and as a brand, to break new ground together.”

The new shirts will be released in the coming months. During the course of the partnership, both parties will aim to “strengthen their common status as entertainment powerhouses, generating an innovative ecosystem of initiatives that will unite players and fans on and off the field,” as AC Milan notes.

Naoki Morita, European President of KONAMI Digital Entertainment BV, commented: “KONAMI is very excited to work once again with AC Milan. To become a Principal Partner of one of the biggest football clubs in Europe and also to put our brand your shirts is an incredible opportunity”.

“We look forward to working with the club and creating an innovative partnership together,” concluded Morita.

About Konami and eFootball

The formerly known as Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) or Winning Eleven, was renamed eFootball in 2021. The change made the game abandon the Fox Engine graphics system and use the Unreal Engine. The business model has also changed and the game is now free for players, being released only in digital media, and will have versions for iOS and Android.

Konami is a Japanese entertainment and video game company. In addition to being a game developer and publisher, it also produces and distributes trading cards, anime, tokusatsu, pachinko machines, slot machines, and arcade arcades.
