Resorts World Las Vegas has named industry veteran Alex Dixon as chief executive officer along with a new board of directors.
The new leadership team has more than 130 years of industry experience and will seek to accelerate the company’s growth. Jim Murren, former CEO and chairman of MGM Resorts, will serve as chairman of the new board of directors, which includes AG Burnett, Michelle Di Tondo and Kong Han Tan.

Burnett is a partner in McDonald Carano’s gambling and administrative law group and previously served as chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Di Tondo spent more than a decade on the human resources teams at MGM Resorts, three years at Caesar’s Entertainment and another three years at American Express.
Tan is currently chairman, chief operating officer and chief executive officer of Genting Berhad, the main holding company of Resorts World.
New CEO Dixon most recently held the same role at Q Casino & Resort and the Dubuque Racing Association. The executive has a career spanning more than two decades in the gaming, hospitality and entertainment sectors at companies such as:
- MGM Resorts International
- Caesars Entertainment
- Goldman Sachs
The new Resorts Worlds board of directors began its term on December 4th, but Dixon takes over only on January 4th.
