Prime Video holds the rights to broadcast the National Basketball Association (NBA) in Brazil and has therefore partnered with Sportingbet, the league’s official sponsor. As such, Band will broadcast the NBA finals for free.
The broadcast, carried out through the collaboration between Amazon’s streaming platform and the sports betting brand, will feature the visual identity of both partners.
Rômulo Mendonça and Ricardo Bulgarelli will narrate the broadcast, while Alana Ambrosio, the bookmaker’s ambassador, will accompany the team. Band‘s correspondent in the United States, Eduardo Barão, will also be part of the broadcast team.
The first match of the NBA Finals is scheduled for June 5. The participating teams will still be defined after the end of the Conference Finals. Indiana Pacers face the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference, while Minnesota Timberwolves fight against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference.
NBA Broadcast in Brazil
In Brazil, the NBA is broadcast on Prime Video. The broadcast agreement guarantees exclusivity to Amazon’s streaming service for the next 11 seasons, starting with the next edition of the championship. In addition, Prime Video subscribers will have access to special coverage of 147 regular season games.
The show also includes all seven Emirates NBA Cup knockout stage matches, all games from the SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament, the special Black Friday event, and matches from the first and second rounds of the playoffs.
Other media companies hold broadcasting rights for the NBA in Brazil. The Disney Group, through its ESPN channels and Disney+ platform, also broadcasts matches from the North American league.
For the current year, Disney+ will be broadcasting a special broadcast during Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals, between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The event will be attended by several celebrities. Player Neymar has been invited to react during the exclusive Disney+ broadcast. Alongside the athlete will be singer Felipe Araújo, volleyball player Bruninho and ESPN presenter Eduardo de Meneses.
In addition, influencers Natália Guitler and Sofia Espanha will be present. Comedian Renato Albani will lead the live action and will host the broadcast on Disney+.
Through these partnerships, the Brazilian public will be able to follow the excitement of the NBA for free on open TV and digital platforms, consolidating basketball as a highlight on the national sports scene.
