River Plate will have Betano’s brand as the main sponsor on its shirt until 2028. According to the Argentine press, the contract with Codere is close to its completion date. Therefore, the next sponsorship will be formalized in the coming days.

Reports indicate that the Argentine team should sign a contract with the company starting in May. The contract will be for three seasons, that is, until mid-2028.

Although the final figures of River’s deal with bookmaker Betano have not yet been confirmed, internal information from the club has reported that it will be the biggest sponsor in Argentine football.

Codere, a Spanish betting brand, appeared at River in 2022. With the master sponsorship brand, River pocketed between US$3.5 and 4 million dollars per year, something that is around R$17.7 and 20.2 million. The new shirt sponsor is expected to leave a much higher number than the one mentioned.

Betano wants to take advantage of River Plate’s presence in the Super World Cup

In principle, the official announcement of Betano as a new sponsor will take place in the first days of next May. In addition to River, the brand also sponsors important clubs such as Aston Villa, Olympiakos, Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, Porto and Barcelona from Ecuador, among others.

The betting company also sponsors the Professional Football League, the Brasileirão, the Copa do Brasil and the UEFA Europa League.

An important point mentioned by the parties involved and reported in the Argentine press is that River will be present at the FIFA Club World Cup, in this new format. Such exposure would have attracted Betano and helped define the investment to be made by the brand in the Argentine giant club.

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, popularly known as the Super World Cup, will be the first edition of the tournament organized by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). With 32 clubs from six continental confederations, the competition will take place in the United States between June 14 and July 13 this year.
