São Paulo and Superbet are close to making history in the sponsorship sector in Brazil. In a new contract, the bookmaker is expected to reach the historic amount of R$1 billion, including prizes for titles and performance on the field.
The year 2024 can be considered a good one for São Paulo on the field. Tricolor Paulista maintained a good performance and won nine titles (among all categories of men’s and women’s football) including a Brazilian Super Cup, against Palmeiras. However, on the other hand, the debt exceeded R$ 1 billion.
Given this, and without any major victories/awards in the main national championships, the renewal of the contract with Superbet came as a relief for Tricolor. The bookmaker proposed a new contract with the club that guarantees R$678 million fixed until 2030.
Awards and bonuses included in the contract
The contract also includes performance bonuses in the event of winning titles and other classifications. Therefore, depending on the club’s results, the amount could reach a total of R$1 billion.
According to information from the clubs, and for comparison purposes, Flamengo could receive R$470 million to display the Pixbet brand until 2027.
While Palmeiras, which recently signed a deal with Sportingbet, will receive a fixed R$100 million per year, in addition to up to R$70 million in bonuses through sporting goals.
In 2025, the initial value will be R$78 million. In addition, in the coming years, there will be progressive adjustments that could reach up to R$140 million in 2030, without extending the total budget of R$678 million. If confirmed, the new contract between São Paulo and Superbet has the potential to be the largest sponsorship ever made in Brazil.
Therefore, the renewal should be made official in the next few days. This Monday (10), the team will face Palmeiras, at Allianz Parque, in a game valid for the semifinal of Paulistão.
