BandBet, a new online betting platform, was officially launched this week, with more than 30 sports available. In this way, the platform has the credibility seal of Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação.

Historically, the Band was responsible for introducing little-known sports to the Brazilian public, such as snooker, American football, boxing and volleyball.

The iconic voice of Luciano do Valle, the station’s eternal announcer, marked these broadcasts. Now, with the use of artificial intelligence, Band innovates once again in sports entertainment.

Platform launch

For the launch of BandBet, Grupo Bandeirantes licensed the brand and received financial advice from BTG Pactual, the largest investment bank in Latin America. In turn, BTG was responsible for uniting Band with Openbet, a global leader in betting technology and services.

Ricardo Bianco, member of the BandBet board, highlighted the importance of the brand: “BandBet reflects all the credibility, values and reputation that Grupo Bandeirantes has had for more than 80 years”.

Openbet, a BandBet partner, is responsible for more than 60% of online betting in the United States. Additionally, the company has a strong presence in the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada.

The platform offers more than 400 live casinos, as well as betting on a variety of sports. Jordan Levin, CEO of OpenBet, commented on the potential of the Brazilian market: “The Brazilian market really has a lot of potential, as people love sports here. The new legislation is transparent, serious and helps to guarantee the professionalism of the sector”.

Approval of BandBet by the Ministry of Finance

BandBet was approved after complying with all standards applied by the Ministry of Finance. Furthermore, Band programs continue to be partners with other regulated operators.

Alexandre Battaglia, user of the platform, shared his experience: “From the beginning, it was very clear to me that it would be fun and adrenaline. We follow everything that’s happening, the games.”

To serve users, BandBet set up a center in São Paulo, which operates 24 hours a day. Therefore, the team is available to answer questions and assist with operations.

The platform also monitors player behavior. Natalie Martins, legal director at BandBet, explained: “When this happens, BandBet has internal tools and services that monitor such activities and use blocks and restrictions, as well as direct communication to the user to prevent harmful behavior.”
