Grêmio and Internacional announced an agreement with the bookmaker Alfa for master sponsorship of the two teams. The contract is just awaiting final formalization and should debut on the uniforms during Gre-Nal 444 this Saturday. According to sources involved in the negotiation, each club will receive approximately R$50 million per year over the three years of partnership.
In addition to the fixed amount, the agreement includes clauses that can increase earnings depending on the teams’ sporting performance and engagement. For example, goals such as ranking in competitions or reach on social media can generate additional bonuses for clubs.
Before Alfa, the two teams from Rio Grande do Sul negotiated with KTO, which advanced in conversations with the directors, but did not sign the contract. Thus, Alfa took over the space left by Banrisul, the former master sponsor, which will now occupy a secondary position on the teams’ shirts.
Grêmio and International Partnerships before Alfa
It is worth noting that the clubs’ previous partnerships with other bookmakers also recently came to an end. While Internacional had a contract with EstrelaBet, Grêmio maintained a link with Esporte da Sorte, both of which were terminated to make the new single master agreement viable for both teams.
In this scenario, Gre-Nal 444 marks not only another chapter in the historic rivalry between the clubs, but also symbolizes a change in the commercial relations of football in Rio Grande do Sul.
The game will take place at 9pm this Saturday at Arena do Grêmio and will be valid for the sixth round of the Campeonato Gaúcho — the first opportunity for fans to see the new sponsorships on the teams’ uniforms during a decisive classic in the state season.
