São Paulo’s master sponsor, Superbet announced the five-time world champion captain, Cafu, as its new ambassador. The former player joins the group that already includes Thiago Silva and Ferrugem.
The action is part of the bookmaker’s strategy of strengthening its relationship with Brazilians. According to the CEO of Superbet, Alexandre Fonseca, this is a very important moment for the sports betting sector in the country, with regulation bringing greater security for bettors and platforms.
“We are proud to be among the first in this process, and there is nothing more symbolic than teaming up with someone like Cafu, who understands the importance of leaving your mark and inspiring generations,” said Fonseca.
The platform launched a documentary rescuing relevant passages from the former full-back’s career, with historical images of his titles. The video is available on Superbet’s social networks.
In addition, the bookmaker promoted a campaign during the interval of Rede Globo’s Jornal Nacional, with presenter Getúlio Vargas (GV) and former football referee Sálvio Spínola, highlighting its authorization to operate in the national territory. Superbet will also help São Paulo pay for midfielder Oscar‘s salaries, according to MKT Esportivo. The 33-year-old player was announced as ‘Super-reinforcement’, in reference to the name of the sponsor.
Of the R$2 million per month, totaling R$24 million per year, that he will receive, the bookmaker will pay just over half, around R$12.5 million, while the São Paulo club will pay the rest.
It is important to highlight that this amount will be additional and will not change the amount of R$52 million per year that Superbet pays to the São Paulo club for the master sponsorship agreement.
