Palmeiras is at an advanced stage in negotiations with the bookmaker Sportingbet to sign a master sponsorship agreement from 2025. This contract, which should last three years, has not yet been formalized, but discussions have already gone beyond the initial phase.
About 20 days ago, the talks were at an embryonic stage. Currently, the parties involved are exchanging final conditions to close the deal.
Sportingbet‘s proposal is the most attractive to date. However, the club is still in dialogue with other interested companies, waiting for a superior offer. Verdão did not comment on the matter to the Uol portal, only mentioning that the competition is still ongoing.
Leila Pereira, president of Palmeiras, has some resistance towards the world of betting, but recognizes the solid track record of Sportingbet, which was founded in England in 1997 and has partnerships with major football entities, such as Conmebol. Furthermore, the company is among the bookmakers authorized to operate by the government.
Palmeiras goal
Palmeiras’ objective is to secure a master sponsor and two more properties, aiming to reach around R$150 million with the uniform. This does not include the almost R$50 million in the sports equipment agreement with Puma.
Currently, the club receives R$81 million in sponsorship from Crefisa and Faculdade das Américas, which have exclusivity in all uniform properties.
Furthermore, Palmeiras is considering placing the women’s team’s uniform in the competition to attract new sponsors. The current contract with Esportes da Sorte, which sponsors the women’s team, is only valid until December.
Therefore, Palmeiras is strategically evaluating its options to maximize its sponsorship potential. The final decision is yet to come, but Sportingbet positions itself as the favorite to replace Crefisa in the master sponsorship of the São Paulo club.
