Last week, the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA) published an ordinance, with the rules and conditions for obtaining authorization for the sports betting and online gaming market. Thus, Kaizen Gaming, owner of the Betano brand, became the first to apply for a license.
The group formalized its request via the Betting Management System (SIGAP). The evaluation time is six months, but as a transitional rule, brands that submit an application in the first three months will receive a response in 2024.
Therefore, Betano tends to be one of the first licensed companies to operate in the national territory. Furthermore, the authorization ordinances will be announced on the same date at this time.
The intention of the Prizes and Betting Secretariat is to announce the first authorized bookmakers in the second half of the year. According to the legislation, the groups must comply with a series of requirements and pay R$30 million to the Federal Government.
From then on, licensed companies will be able to commercially operate up to three brands for the next five years.
