“Bookmakers” are dominating the Brasileirão Series A. Therefore, in 2024, 70% of elite national football teams have betting companies as master sponsors. This represents 14 of the 20 elite teams.
Bookmakers dominate presence in Series A
The clubs that break the rule are Cuiabá, Grêmio, Internacional, Palmeiras, RB Bragantino and Vasco. This is because these teams have master sponsors from other sectors or, in the case of Vasco, are without a master sponsor.
In other words, compared to 2023, there was an increase in the presence of these platforms. The previous year, 60% of Serie A teams had betting companies as master sponsors.
Flamengo and Corinthians, which were previously sponsored by companies from other sectors, closed with betting sites for 2024.
Coritiba, which did not have a betting site as a master sponsor, was relegated to Series B. But Vasco da Gama, which terminated Pixbet, is in negotiations with other companies.
The complete list of master sponsorship at Brasileirão 2024 includes:
- Athletico-PR: Esportes da Sorte (Bets)
- Atlético-GO: Blaze (Bets)
- Atlético-MG: Betano (Bets)
- Bahia: Esportes da Sorte (Bets)
- Botafogo: Parimatch (Bets)
- RB Bragantino: Red Bull (Drink)
- Corinthians: VaideBet (Bets)
- Criciúma: EstrelaBet (Bets)

Thus, the financial impact of bookmaker sponsorships on Brazilian football is significant. These sponsorships represent a crucial source of revenue for clubs, who see these partnerships as an opportunity to boost their budgets.
Betano takes over the naming rights of the Brasileirão
Furthermore, the country’s main football competition also has an agreement with a bookmaker. Betano assumes the naming rights for the 2024 edition of Série A of the Brazilian Championship.
Therefore, the sports betting company takes the place of Assaí Atacadista, which had been the rights holder since 2018. The championship starts this Saturday, the 13th.
The recently signed contract covers a period of three years, covering editions from 2024 to 2026. According to reliable sources, the agreement is valued at between R$70 million and R$80 million annually.
While this figure represents a significant increase compared to the previous contract, which earned CBF around R$50 million annually during the last renewal.
