Ensuring product integrity is fundamental to our approach. Therefore, we look forward to integrating Glitnor into our leading global sports betting health monitoring system.”
IBIA is a non-profit body that has no competitive conflicts with the provision of commercial services to other sectors and is managed by operators for operators. So, the purpose is to protect regulated sports betting markets against match manipulation.
In other words, IBIA’s global monitoring network is a highly effective anti-corruption tool. It detects and reports suspicious activity in regulated betting markets.
IBIA Integrity Report
IBIA’s global monitoring network tracks transactional activity linked to individual customer accounts.
IBIA members move more than US$300 billion a year in bets. This represents approximately 50% of the global regulated land-based and online sports betting sector, and more than 50% in the online sector alone.
IBIA recently released a report on the availability of sports betting products. Ontario has emerged as one of the top regulated gambling jurisdictions, with an expected onshore sports betting pipeline of 92% in 2024. This percentage is predicted to be 97% in 2028.
Currently, IBIA represents more than 60% of licensed private sports betting operators in the province. Therefore, all licensed online sports betting operators in Ontario must join a betting integrity monitoring body.
IBIA‘s 2023 annual health report detailed 184 alerts reported for the year, which represents a reduction of 101 (or 35%) from the revised 2022 number of 285 alerts.
Thus, IBIA’s warnings contributed to the investigations and subsequent successful sanctioning of 21 clubs, players and officials in 2023, an increase from the 15 sanctioned in 2022.
