The survey, carried out with 1,100 fans of several Brazilian teams, brought surprising data about support for Cruzeiro. Seventy percent of those interviewed declared that they were rooting for Raposa to win in the international competition.
The numbers show significant support from traditional fans. The following stand out:
- 100% of Grêmio fans
- 86.21% of Santos fans
- 79.69% of São Paulo residents
Interestingly, rival Atlético Mineiro is the only team that does not exceed 50% support for Cruzeiro.
Cruzeiro and the fan profile
The study revealed interesting data about the fans. Fans of the Baby Boomer generation (born between 1946 and 1964) lead the support, with 73.84% declaring support for Cruzeiro. On the other hand, Generation Z shows less enthusiasm.
The survey brought another revealing fact: 66% of those interviewed prefer to see Cruzeiro champion the South American Championship.
Among Atlético Mineiro fans, 34% go to the extreme of preferring to see their team lose the Libertadores rather than see Cruzeiro winning the continental title.
