Betfair, one of the largest betting platforms in the world, updates recent data on the 2024 American Presidential Elections. The scenario shows a high movement in betting and a strong preference among Brazilian bettors for former Republican President Donald Trump.

How are Brazilians betting?

On the Betfair platform, Trump leads with the highest odds of winning in the November 5th election. There is a 63% chance of winning (odd of 1.57) against 37% for Kamala Harrisha (odd of 2.78). But it’s worth remembering tt, in betting, the lower the odd number, the greater the probability of the result coming true.

The election betting market already reaches more than R$890 million in bets worldwide, proof that interest and expectations for the election transcend the borders of the United States.

In Brazil alone, more than R$3.8 million reais were bet on the Betfair platform, placing Brazil as the eighth country in the world that bets the most on the American Elections.

Betfair data also shows that Brazilian bettors prefer Trump and overwhelmingly believe in the former president’s return to the White House according to the market within the platform.

According to consolidated data from Betfair, bets placed in Brazil in 2024 reflect a significant preference for Donald Trump: there were approximately R$1.87 million in bets for the former president and only R$342 thousand for the Democrat.

In other words, this follows the global trend, which shows Trump with approximately R$100 million in more bets than Kamala Harris. But, it is important to consider that Harris only announced her candidacy at the end of July, while Trump has been in the race all year.

American elections take place on November 5th

Brazil is the fifth country that is most betting on Trump’s victory. On October 7th, the Republican candidate received around R$105 thousand reais in bets in Brazil. That same day, Trump overturned the general odds and became the favorite for the White House.

Betfair interviewed the Brazilian community in New York. The objective was to find out the perceptions of the November 5th election and the assessment of the two candidates.

Thus, as in the last 180 years, the presidential elections in the United States will take place on the first Tuesday (5th) of November. Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris are in a tight race for the White House to govern the largest economy in the world for the next four years (2025-2028).
