Cruzeiro Esporte Clube, under the management of Pedro Lourenço, renewed its master sponsorship contract with Betfair. The sports betting company committed to paying a fixed R$42 million per season, a significant increase compared to the R$25 million per year in the previous contract.
In addition to the fixed value, the new contract includes variables linked to the team’s performance. Goals such as winning titles and good campaigns could further increase the Minas Gerais club’s earnings. This contract model aims to encourage the club to maintain high performance in competitions.
Betfair wins interest from other companies and extends contract with Cruzeiro
Several companies showed interest in sponsoring Cruzeiro. Vaidebet, after leaving Corinthians, and EstrelaBet were among the candidates.
However, Betfair‘s proposal stood out, resulting in the continuation of the partnership that began in January 2023.
The renewal was initially aligned by Ronaldo Fenômeno, before his departure from Toca da Raposa II. Pedro Lourenço, upon taking over the club’s SAF, demanded new terms in the commitment, thus guaranteeing a more advantageous contract for Cruzeiro.
This new agreement reinforces the club’s financial position and enhances its chances of success in future seasons. The expectation is that, with more resources, Cruzeiro can invest better in its squad and infrastructure, resulting in better results on the field.
